Question by Angel: Need help regarding Drug abuse?
Hi guys I need help! my boyfriend seems to have a drug problem… he is telling me he wants to stop and is upset after he messes up, I know it always starts after he drinks he turns to that substance to sober up, now im not sure what to do I have tried my best I have threatened to leave him and he said he will only get worse… when ever I fight with him he blames it on that, seems like my only option is to not let it affect me but I cannot sit back and watch my boyfriend throw his life away, also I would be the first to send him off to rehab but with that come alot of complications in the family so that would be my last resort.. Marijuana and Addiction? Harmless or Not?

Question by Giselle: Marijuana and addiction? Harmless or not?
I know someone who is 34 years old. He recently ended a longterm relationship with a dear friend who has a 2 year old son by him. The two were together for nearly a decade. She quit smoking marijuana when she got pregnant, went back to college and was trying to encourage him to quit as well since she thought it would benefit the family. He refused, said he was tired of her not accepting him for who he is and ended their relationship. One of his primary reasons was he “didn’t want to change his lifestyle”.

I Need to Find Addiction Treatment Centers in Kennebunk, Maine. How?

Question by citlali a: I need to find addiction treatment centers in Kennebunk, Maine. How?
I’m especially interested in finding one that administers buprenorphine instead of methadone. I’ve heard that buprenorphine is better and that patients will be able to get off the medication easily, as opposed to methadone that usually becomes a life long regimen.

I too have heard of the news that buprenorphine is more appealing than methadone. Do you have a loved one that will undergo treatment for drug addiction soon? Or are you just trying to get more information regarding buprenorphine? Anyway, the links that I have included below will help you find treatment centers and physicians that are registered to administer buprenorphine. Good luck!

Addiction to Drugs Physical or Mental?

Question by Omar: addiction to drugs physical or mental?
Is addiction to stimulant drugs a physical or mental addiction?

Best answer:

Answer by .
Depends. And is probably a mixture of both. With a drug like cocaine, if you have been taking it a lot, and then you don’t have any, you get a itchy desperate feeling like you’ve got to have some more. Same with cigarettes or alcohol, your body gets used to having it and when it doesn’t, it starts to withdraw and you want mor to stop the feeling of discomfort. But then I’d say that the onset of the addiction comes from a mental perspective. Say with a drug like weed, the physical withdraw isn’t uncomfortable, you just rely on it mentally.
