Well, I have a male cousin who’s addicted to crack and heroin, maybe ecstasy still too. He lost his marriage and girls to the disease. Drug abuse is a disease because once they’re hooked it consumed they’re body and mind both, kinda like cancer. Seen it and when I was a teen I also had a cocaine problem but I got over mine. With your cousin, how old is she? Sometimes, in some states, if family can declare her as incompitent, you can admit her into a treatment facility where she must stay. The downside is, some places will let them walk out at they’re own free will. I know someone else that had cocaine issues and they refused help, state wouldn’t help either. Finally they went out and did a deal, drug enforcement was watching and he got busted buying. Was in Ohio and he got put into Drug Court, 18 month out patient deal but it did work. Sometimes drug addicts are better off getting caught by the law because many states have this nowadays and the program is a very strict one. They must seek councel from places like New Beginnings and Freedom Hall, as well as attent meetings weekly, do urine tests constantly. Trust me, what they put people through, they have no other choice but straighten up. Maybe this is something your like to check out and look into further. I hate to say it, but if your seriously worried about her, turn her in and let her get caught and go through the system, you just might save her life in the long run. I totally understand your concern. My 19 year old nephew was on the streets of Syracuse, New York, on drugs bad. He had warrants in Maryland. He was using drugs so bad that he was being found unconsious in the streets in New York in like February and March. We were afraid he’s overdose out there and freeze on top of it. We turned him in to Maryland, they went and picked him up. 3 years after going through state drug counsel, he’s still clean and now engaged. The system can work, it you work it right. I feel your pain, hope this helps, & good luck,
