It sounds like he is going through some anxiety. The best way to overcome this is by reinforcing good behavior and socializing your dog. Sometimes these things just pop up or can be triggered if they have been left alone for a while or feel neglected. Make sure that your dog is comfortable and has things to keep him busy when you’re not around so he doesn’t get bored. If he pees when other people come around/pick him up/pet him, gradually start introducing other people to him who comfort and praise him so he learns its ok.
If nothing else works, there are prescription anxiety medications and over the counter treatments you can get for dogs, just like people. If you feel the need, make an appointment with your veterinarian to talk about getting a prescription for drugs like Anxitane or Novifit/Sam-E (for older pets). These are pretty effective at reducing anxiety, they work a lot like antidepressants and antianxiety drugs in humans.
