Is Medicine the Right Career Path for Me?
Question by Hope: Is medicine the right career path for me?
I am very intelligent. I not only have the ability to test well, but also am very resourceful when faced with a situation that resorts to critical thinking and problem solving. I also have a knack for first aid. I love treating flesh wounds and suturing. I’m concerned because I’m really not a “people person”. If I had a difficult patient I don’t know if I would be able to do my job as well if he/she did not cooperate with me and my team.
I know I would absolutely loathe being a registered nurse do the fact I don’t like excessive contact with strangers, and I don’t want to be barfed on daily, or have to clean up patient’s body fluids.
A hospital is not exactly my ideal workplace location.
I would really love to go into the military, and am hoping I might like working on/treating soldiers.
I don’t want to be be stuck in one field. I want to be able to do a large range of things with my job, and so far I seemed to excel in healthcare.
I have also considered working in a clinic in a less fortunate county and giving out basic treatment to those who may die if they go without a drug as simple as Tylenol.
Seeing the patients who are dying of lung cancer go outside with their O2 tanks behind them while they puff a cigarette just makes me irritated.
Like I said, I don’t want waste my time trying to treat an abundance of patients that aren’t willing to cooperate and accept the treatment they need.
If you recognize my personality type as one to fit a certain medical field please tell me about it because I would really like to start specializing to meet a specific goal.

13 states now have medicinal marijuana. Oakland is taxing the sale and is raising millions for their municipality.Jobs have been created for the grow houses and farms ,security being hired for the dispenseries. This is extremely obviously beneficial for all participating states. The feds have made enforcement there lowest priority. My Nephew Is an Drug Addict and Is in Jail for Stealing Money From His Mother and Making Threats to the Family?
Question by Gaby: My nephew is an drug addict and is in jail for stealing money from his mother and making threats to the family?
He has been in and out of jail for stealing or being aggressive … He is 21 and now it has been almost 3 weeks in jail… I love him very much we both a nice relationship but I guess because of traumas of seeing his parents get divorce than his mother getting married again just broke him … He is in NY … I came up with the idea of going to see him all the family and telling him that we will take him out of jail unless he goes straight to rehab something like that show INTERVENTION … I don’t know how to start how to do it. Do I call a rehab center and ask for someone to come with us and have my nephew leave with that person … Will rehab centers do that??? I am just thinking and planning based on a tv show … I just feel so bad I need to try and help him .
