I know, addictions like alcoholism are clearly seen, but what about other things?
Am I addicted to tea and coffee if I have 1-2 servings a day? BUT need those things to function normally, so even though its not excess, is it an addiction?
Or, online shopping, I’ll buy a few shirts each month, am I addicted to clothes?
The list goes on and on. Is the difference moderation versus addiction?

Hello, my sister has a problem with alcohol and she also seems very depressed. She has agreed to let me find her some help, but I don’t know where to start looking. What sort of place should I look into? She does not have her own doctor. She has never sought help before. Should I just find a psychiatrist? Thank you for your advice.
Everytime I see her, she is either drunk or high (she smokes pot) and always has these emotional crying spells and cannot explain them. Just today she was crying for apparently no reason, so she said, and could not stop so I finally said that I think it’s time that she talked to someone and it just seemed like that’s what she wanted to hear.

It dosent add up to me. Drug addicts are ADDICTED to illegal drugs. Why send thses people to jail, where they will get no treatment and will likely have acces to drugs while incarcerated? I think when a person is arrested for drug usage, they should be sent to a state funded rehab clinic until they are clean. Oh and no walking out or being thrown out, this is the punishment as well as the cure. That way, hopwfully, some of these people canhave a second chance. Well thats my view anyway.

Jehovahs Witnesses were the only group given a choice to stay in the concentration camps or swear allegiance to hitler.
