Question by CAITLYNN C: Do people who have gone to jail because of taking drugs have to go to a drug treatment program afterwards?
I was just wondering whether their time in jail is enough, since when they are locked up in jail, they won’t be able to get access to drugs.

How Do Drug Treatment Programs Help Society?

Question by cassie n: How do drug treatment programs help society?
I have to do a paper on this. I already have some ideas but I thought it would be better to get some people’s opinions too. If you can cite some sources as well, that would be great.

Drug treatment programs help in fostering a healthier society. With every person treated for his drug addiction, there’s one person brought back to sobriety and productivity. Productivity that society will benefit from. It also follows that when one gets treated from drug addiction, his loved ones will be happier and this will cause ripples of positivity. Researches have also shown that drug treatment decreases instances of crime, abuse, and spreading of diseases such as HIV and AIDS, among others.
