Can I Admit My 17 Year Old Son Into a Drug Rehab Center Without His Permission?

Question by cheebo: Can I admit my 17 Year Old son into a drug rehab center without his permission?
My son is 17 years old, and has a severe drug addiction problem. He’s on nearly every Hallucinogen, and smokes marijuana daily. He won’t go into a drug rehab program, we’ve tried before. Can I commit him without his consent? I’ve heard before that at 17 he needs to sign a consent form, which he won’t. But there must be a way to get him help, he’s not even 18 yet. We live in Vermont if that helps. Thank you for your answers, we greatly appreciate them.

What Project Can I Make Out of Drug-Alcohol Abuse Psychology Research?

Question by thomas_afi628: What project can I make out of Drug-Alcohol Abuse Psychology research?
I am a senior in high school, and we have to do a big graduation project that consists of a 5-page paper, 15 hours with a mentor, and a final presentation in front of judges. The topic I was considering was A Day In The Life of a Psychologist. Substance Abuse, more specifically. My paper could be about how drug and alcohol abuse has grown/stopped/whatever in America over the last 60 or so years. What could I do as a final presentation? I was thinking, maybe a step-by-step plan for a recovering adolescent, but I’m not really sure. Any suggestions?

How Should Illegal Immigration Be Stopped?

Question by mr. man: How should illegal immigration be stopped?
How can it be stopped? I don’t see a good reason besides building a big wall that wouldn’t be racist against hispanics. Should we just let everyone in and be fair because the Mexicans can border hop easily?

Friend;
I was a smoker for 45 years and I tried all kinds of quit smoking gimmicks.The only thing that worked for me was the Guts to try and the willpower to stick to it. It has been 15 months now,and some days are still hard to stay smoke free, but so far so good, give it a try and Good Luck,You can do it.
