Drug Addiction Recovery Literature Ideas?

Question by xSweetiex07: Drug Addiction Recovery Literature Ideas?
My mom has 5 months clean from abusing prescription drugs and I would like to buy her a book for her birthday about recovery. She has been regularly attending Narcotics Anonymous meetings, and through that program she has read one book and started another. She is very involved and serious about staying clean. I want to buy her something inspirational, and keep her spirits up. If you have any ideas please let me know! Thanks so much!!!

Hey Whitney – I go to NA and work w/ people in recovery and I would 500% recommend “Healing the Addictive Personality” by Lee Jampolsky. It is an excellent book for people who are serious about getting clean/recovery because it addresses the underlying emotional/personal issues that precede drug use. It is also written in such a way that it is very accessible to anyone and helps the reader feel comfortable with very difficult issues. Here is a link on amazon, or I’m sure you could probably find it at a Barnes and Nobel or other bookstore:

P.S. That’s very thoughtful and sweet of you to do for your mom!
