I work in an adult residential drug rehab facility for women as a mental health counselor. What are some unique or creative ideas for groups I can hold for the residents? There are already groups for DBT, seeking safety, coping w/triggers anger management, body image, yoga, and domestic violence. I am having difficulty thinking of helpful and creative issues for which to start up a group.
Any suggestions? If so, what type of activities would it involve?

I prefer feedback from teens themselves. I know as teens we are in the center of all ythe problems. We actually know whats going on in our highschools, we can speak better for our selves then the adults can. I know theres alot of alcohol abuse and drug abuse, teen pregnancies and ect. My brother who is now 21 years old is struggling with Alcohol and Drug abuse. He has been to many volunteer rehab centers but end up getting out! He wants to change because he attempts to by going to these voluteer rehab centers but when he gets the urge he gets out. Please help!!

I’m sorry to hear about your brother who is struggling with addiction. It can be a difficult and uncertain process for a person to recover from drugs and alcohol, that’s for sure.

I have a friend who is addicted to Ambien. At first she thought it was ok because it’s a prescription drug, as opposed to illicit ones. However, she has just recently gotten fired from her job because she does poorly and sometimes falls asleep while at work. She’s asking for my help in finding treatment centers and I want to oblige.
